Dress in layers and wear warm, waterproof clothing — the ocean can be chilly even on sunny days. We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snacks, and any medication you may need for seasickness.
If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking medication at least 30–60 minutes before boarding. Staying outside in the fresh air and focusing on the horizon can also help.
Yes! Our trips are family-friendly. We recommend the shorter tours for young children, as conditions offshore can sometimes be rougher.

While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, this area is one of the best places on the California coast to see whales and other marine life. Our experts collaborate with other mariners and shore spotters to ensure we have the most up to date information on the location of the whales. If we believe ocean conditions will not be conducive to finding a whale we will cancel the trip.
We understand that plans can change! Cancellations made at least 7 days in advance will receive a full refund. If you need to reschedule, you can do so up to 48 hours before your trip at no charge.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of your tour or for guests who arrive late — our trips depart on time to ensure the best possible experience for everyone aboard. If we cancel a trip we will always offer a refund or the option to reschedule.
Yes — while we do our best to run every scheduled trip, we’ll cancel if conditions aren’t right. Your safety and experience always come first. We’ll never go out in unsafe weather, and we may also cancel if ocean conditions aren’t conducive to finding whales or if there aren’t enough sign-ups to run the trip. We don’t want to waste anyone’s time . Our goal is to head out only when we believe we can offer a great experience on the water. If we do cancel a trip we will offer a full refund or the option to reschedule your trip with us.
